Schedule Change and Just Plain Busy

IMG_0271 Daytime

Last week I worked Mon. thru Wed.  Then because we had an influx of new workampers, they asked me if I minded changing my schedule to Wed. thru Fri.  I ended up not working for 7 days in a row with no way to do anything or go anywhere away from the park.

Earlier in the week is busier and easier to learn what’s going on.  Later in the week is a bit slower and not so chaotic.  You can breathe easier, although the day drags a bit more.  I think that I prefer the first part of the week, although it works better later in the week for when my grandson, Nick visits from Tucson.

One thing to say about living here at Good Life, if you’re bored, you have no one to blame but yourself.  There is so much going on, from arts and crafts, billiards, cards, hiking, golf, swimming, dinners, dances, just to name a few of the activities.  They keep adding more.

IMG_0276 These  boards have all the flyers posted for the varied activities and we are adding more all the time.

IMG_0277 This is where I work.  These windows get  opened at 9:00 am.  The one on the right (you can only see part of it) is for the Box Office where we sell all the ticketed events.

IMG_0274 IMG_0275  These two pictures are of the Patio next to the Pool where there are at least three Patio Parties a week with a band playing.  It is very popular.  You can imagine this area crowded with everyone dancing and enjoying the music.

Tonight, I stuck around to purchase a Box Dinner that they serve for Bingo (I don’t do Bingo).  It was a very good pulled pork sandwich with chips, macaroni salad and brownie.  I just took it home, because Angel was waiting to go out.

The rest of the evening I will just veg out and tomorrow I will continue going through my art materials and reorganizing my basement compartments.

I hope that you all have a great weekend.

Thanks for visiting

IMG_0272A couple of nights ago, Mom took me to the dog park but as soon as I did my business I just went and sat with her.

  2. Looks like you are really busy but that's good I guess. Hope you are enjoying some of those activities. Looks like an agility course there for Angel.

    1. Yes it is, however she's not interested in the course. The main things that I would like to take advantage of or on days that I work.

  3. No luck with a car yet. Was hoping you had found something. Jim is gone and won't be back til next Thursday so we'll try and get together the next week. Time is really starting to rush by. How full is your park?

    1. There are quite a lot of sites still open, but those will probably fill up in January.

  4. That sure looks like a nice park, tons of activities! I'm such a homebody, but even I'd probably find something there I'd enjoy. :)

    1. I too tend to be a homebody, but I have to make the effort to put myself out there.

  5. Susan, I am not sure how I found your blog but I don't believe in coincidences. I have read of your travels and envious of you. I retired last March and always wanted to do this since my late husband and I took several trips in an RV during the 80's. What really blows me awaits that in September of 2013 I tripped and fell and fractured my left shoulder. My X-ray is identical to yours and I too sport the titanium rod and screws. It has been very difficult trying to function and drive which I have done very little of since then. I am in PT but it is so painful I am taking a break. I really admire you for getting on with work so soon.

I also cannot believe I lost my little dog Lexie which was identical to Angel two years ago to cancer and have so grieved for her. And then the last thing is I am an artist too. So many thanks for your blog. I will follow it with interest. Best of luck!
