Now The Hard Part

Last night they were ready to discharge me from The Baylor Surgical Center, where I expected them to linr up home health care for a couple of days.  It wasn't going to happen.  I won't go into the details, but the solution was to get me to a rehab center to get me where I feel comfortable being by myself.  So around 6:30 pm I aw transported to Healthsouth nearby for rehab.  It will probably be for the best to get me back to normal.
So, here I am waiting for breakfast and then will go through evaluation and then set up a plan and schedule.  It's going to be painful, but will just take it one day/minute at a time.

Angel will be staying with Sandi.  It could be for a week or more.

Thanks for visiting

  1. I guess this is best. What a disappointment though.

You should be in the best place to get started on your therapy. Take care.

    Blessings

  2. I know you want to get home, but I think this is an excellent stage for adjusting to life on your own again. It just gets you over the hump immediately following surgery. Won't be long and you and Angel will be snug in your home again!

  3. After Jim's back surgery he had to go for a week of rehab. He really didn't want to go but he'll now tell you it was the best decision for him. They really made him work hard and we both agree it really speeded up his recovery. I know it's hard but it will be worth it. Work hard and get home to Angel.

  4. My mantras through difficult situations are:
"You gotta do what you gotta do."

"It is what it is. And this too shall pass."

Then I go forward gung ho with whatever needs to be done.

    Take care of yourself, Susan.

  7. The Baylor Surgical Center is an awesome hospital! Good surgery center with nice waiting areas. All the staff I met was amazing. The rooms are comfortable and well kept. And as a bonus the food in their cafeteria doens't taste like cardboard like it does at so many hospitals.
