Another Gate Guard for Down the Road and Visitors

Today started out with traffic coming in kind of slow, but since it wasn’t raining it started to dry out and it got quite steady.  It was a bit busier than yesterday, but they  t ell me that it will get much busier.

Around 9 am another gate guard showed  up.  He will be at another gate a half mile down the road.  His name is Angel.  Both Angels got along great. They will be providing a trailer for him (it will come out of his check) as he doesn’t have an RV.  There was nothing at that gate for him except the generator trailer.  He has been staying in his car.  His dad will be at  another gate,( same situation).and should be getting a trailer tomorrow.  So while he was waiting, he hung out here and helped me open and close the gate and I showed him what to do.  Roger got here about 9:30 pm with the trailer that has the portable septic system on it and then left.  The man with the TT just showed up at almost 10 pm.and is over there now finishing with the set up.  At least Angel can sleep in a bed tonight. I don’t know what he will do when he isn’t busy as he has no TV, books or radio, but he says that he’s happy that way.  He seems like a really nice guy.

I did have a visitor today,  My sister, Evelyn and my b-i-l, Mike who live in Camp Wood brought me my mail.  They only stayed for a little while and had to get back before dark.

I did get a closer look at the chickens and rooster that I can hear all day.  It seems there are a couple of horses there too, but were to far away to get a picture.

Angel was more interested in the chickens than the 3” centipede that I was showing her.

When I turned on the lights, I spotted this toad, same color as the dirt.

That was about it for the day, I’m just waiting for the man that brought the trailer to leave and then hopefully I won’t have too many interruptions and can get some sleep.  As Phil said in a comment,    125, 250. 375, 500 .  Better than counting sheep!

Thanks for visiting

  1. Glad to hear you are doing okay there. This rain has been something although we really do need it. I think you have gotten a lot more where you are than we have here in Schertz. I'm getting really tired of cleaning muddy paws. Do you have a surge protector between you and the generator. I've heard that there are sometimes problems with surges on those big ones. It is really great that you have Internet access so I am assuming phone as well. Take care!

  2. Just wanted to tell you I may not like the fact that it's 24/7 but you are the one that has to do this. I love you no matter what and support your decision. Maybe I need to get Auntie's address so that I will mail random cards or notes to you so she has a reason to "check in on you" lol. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOMMY!!!! I love you!!!
