I’m at a Gate

About 9 am Hunter took me out to my gate. After I gat unhooked and leveled  Joey brought a load of caliche to lay down, but instead of under me it is all around the back and side where I will be walking.  Hopefully that will help with mud when it rains.

Hunter had me completely set up by 4 pm.  He had to go back to Carrizo Springs for some stuff that he needed.  He also stopped and filled up my 3 gallon water bottle.

I am an a gate where they are putting in a new well., so the fun begins.  It has been busy on and off all day, but I am told that when they bring the rig in, it will be no stop.  Sleep will prove to be just catnaps. we’ll see how it goes.   It’s after 9 pm and 6 more trucks just came in.  They will probably be here less than an hour

I haven’t posted in a while because my laptop was where I couldn’t get it, as I didn’t put my slides out while I was waiting for the gate.  We hand very bad weather last Monday night. Funnel clouds were spotted about 20 miles North of where I was parked.  This is just a very short post, as I will be very busy.  I’ll try to post pics when I can

Thanks for visiting

  1. Good luck with the gate job. Friends, John and Diane, loved being gate guards and are going to go back again next fall.

  3. Good luck with your new assignment. That will be very interesting, but sounds tiring. At least you'll be getting paid better there doing that job. Thanks for the update, and we'll look forward to hearing how you're doing as you go along there.

  5. Whoa, that sounds scarey! Funnel clouds that close? Glad they stayed away from you.

It must be nice to be settled again. I'm looking forward to seeing photos when you have time to post some.

So are you on the gate 24 hours a day? You can't get by for long on just cat naps.

  9. You've got this. Just take care of yourself and keep us posted. Phil and Rudee's "chant" reminds me of the scene with Natalie Wood as a little girl in "Miracle on 34th Street" where she just keeps repeating, "I believe. I believe." :)
