Custom Ordered Painting Sent and Blogger Visit

                                                      IMG_0076

A big Thank you to Robert and Wendy who ordered a watercolor painting of Robert”’s horse.  They emailed a picture of the horse with his harness on and requested the painting be done without the harness, of course I was happy to oblige.  I hope that they enjoy the painting.

Angel and I welcomed Debra and her Fur-Kids,Nonni and Bentley on Friday evening for a weekend visit.  I worked Friday and just after I got home, I got a call from Debra letting me know that she would be here shortly, so I went up to the office and she was just coming out, so I showed her to my site.  We got all our hugs and hellos out of the way and brought everyone inside to meet Angel.  The puppies all got along right away.  Angel was the perfect little hostess, letting them do what ever they wanted without any jealousies.                                                                                                                              IMG_0077 IMG_0088

                                        Bentley giving Debra  “High Five”

It is amazing how they all just fit in like we have known each other for years   Before fixing dinner I gave her a quick tour of “My Spot” and showed her how easy it is to dump the holding tanks.  She had asked if I needed to do that to wait so that I could show her how to do it.  Debra  (Living in Grace) is a “Full Time Wannabe” and is focused on on finding a way to make it happen.  Since she is not able to retire for many years, she will have to”work”, but I’m sure that she will figure it out and be out on the road as soon as she is able.

We then had dinner and just talked and talked.until I had to get to bed, because I had to work on Saturday.  She hung out with the Fur Babies while I worked and had lunch ready when I was able to get away.  Saturday was only a 7 hour work day, so instead of cooking we decided to check out Denton’s Catfish Cay which is located next to the RV park.  We both had the catfish and shrimp dinner.  It was really good and we had lots of left overs.

When we got back we watched a movie that Debra brought for me, a Blu-ray copy of Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. It was pretty good and entertaining, although I didn’t make it to see the end.   I fell asleep and had to watch it later.

Sunday I slept in a little longer, but when we were up we had breakfast and decided to check out Lake Whitney.  We ended up going all the way around the lake and stopped at Walling Bend Park to let the dogs out and run around and play with my new camera.

The following two pictures show the difference using both lenses.

On the way to another part of the park I spotted a black spot moving across the road and just had to stop and see what it was, would you believe, it was an 8 or 9 inch in diameter tarantula.  Farther down the road I stopped to get a picture of a big bird sitting on a dead tree.  It flew off before I could capture it, but while I was stopped we had a lot of butterflies  land on the truck.

At the other section there were a couple of herons wading in the shallows and large birds riding the wind currents.

This is the first time that I have been able to capture birds in flight.  I really like this camera.

We got back home and Debra showed  me some tips on downloading pictures on my computer.  There was so much more that we could have talked about and share, but this time it was Debra that  had to go to work in the morning, so we said our good byes and will try to visit again another time.

After she left, I thought that it would be a good time to watch that movie again.  I, again fell asleep, but tried one more time before going to bed and finally was able to get all the way to the end.  Interesting ending!

I hope that you all had as great a weekend as I did.

Thanks for visiting

  5. Sounds like you're making up visiting with family and friends after your months of alone time in Texas. I'm thinking your body may also be catching up on sleep since you kept falling asleep watching the movie. My doctor once told me it can take several months for the body to recover from sleep loss. So, sleep away :)
