Lonely, Empty Road

DSC01494

Just an empty road, that’s all there has been this weekend.  Yesterday there were 4 vehicles that came through, yes one of them was in the middle of the night.  So far today, only 2 and the last one was the company man, who has been sitting out by  the road for the last two hours.  Where he is at is where there seems to be decent cell phone service.  He must have his A/C on, as it is another HOT one today.  Most of last week was a bit busier than the previous.  One of the drivers told me that they will be putting in a compressor at the CPF-B (I forget what the letters stand for) It has something to do with getting production from the 5 wells that they closed down.  I get conflicting stories as to what is going on,  I don’t think that they tell each other what they are doing, so I don’t know what to believe.  What ever it is, I just hope that it continues through the month of August. Today starts my 5th week at this location, so I have 5 more to go.

This next part is probably TMI. I’m sorry there just isn’t anything to write about. Anyway!!!

Of course, with no traffic, you would think that I would have plenty of time to take a nice long shower, yea, right,!!!!   Nope, because you never know when someone would come.  We all know that Murphy has to be around somewhere.  I finally gave in and decided to take a shower early this morning at 6:00.  I was taking a chance, because they sometime start coming in that early.  I decided to wash my hair first, just in case.  The gate was closed and if someone came they could wait while I wrapped my hair in a towel. So far, so good.  That being done, I could jump in the shower for five minutes to finish up.  The planning wasn’t too bad, because, as soon as I got dressed a tanker showed up.  I feel so much better after a shower and I didn’t have to make anyone wait.  I’m sure that they wouldn’t want to see me in just a towel. <tee hee>

I have had decent internet today, so most of this morning, I have been catching up on what all my blogger friends are doing.  Hopefully it will last to get this posted.  I have read all of the books and watched all of the movies that I brought with me, so now I can start on the ones that I have downloaded on my I Pad.  I may break down and order the latest book in the Outlander Series from Amazon,  Decisions, decisions!!

Angel keeps me abreast of the bunny/birdie activities.  The local RR took a dust bath, (no pic) and the big bunnies still watching over the little bunnies.

That’s about it out here on the ranch.

Thanks for visiting

  2. In reply to Andrea, I'm only outside for a few minutes at a time. I'm usually inside with the A/C on.

  3. Glad you do get relief from streams of trucks. I'm sure you can only read so many books & watch so many videos!

  4. I have tried Live Writer unsuccessfully a few times for writing our blog. While we were away on our last adventure our WiFi connection was mostly terrible. What I found was that by writing the entire blog on Microsoft Word offline. I then only needed to copy the document, go online and paste it to our blog. If the connection would hold up I could add pictures.

This method might make it easier for keeping in touch.

    Be Safe and Enjoy!

    It's about time.

    1. I like L/W I can add pictures while writing then save until I have Internet available. It works for me. I don't post that often because there's nothing to post about.

  5. I love reading about your experience with this gate-guarding job. That's what Bill & I plan to do after September. We've taken the "test"... will return to TX in October and look for a place. It must be really hard for a person on their own to get everything done (like a shower!) and still be on call. Looks like you're doing just fine.
