Last night it rained, from what I heard we got about a 1/10th of an inch. We really needed it. By the time I had to be at the VC it was beginning to clear. This was taken from out side of the VC. That building out there is one of the Rest Rooms and Showers. It was a pretty busy place. The shelters are located just across the road from there.
Linda M was there and had already opened up the VC. We kept ourselves busy refolding shirts, talking about the things that need to be done to open up and get ready for the day. She took care of some administrative things while I read a few of the children’s books. It always helps to know what’s out there to recommend to customers.
Rick (he’s the #1 at GSP). came by and asked if I could take the EB (Easter Bunny) around to the Day Use Camp Sites. Of Course I would be happy to do that. We decided to do it before it got hot.
(sorry for the quality of the picture, it was bright out there)
I put the rest of the candy in a basket and EB climbed into my green Gator, tucked in those big floppy ears, and away we went. So for next couple of hours, we drove through the campground and stopped every hundred or so feet to greet the kids. Most of them wanted to hug EB and parents wanted to take pictures. I handed out more candy. ( We certainly didn’t want to have a lot of candy sitting in the VC tempting us.) We did take a break half way through for EB to cool off. I’m glad that it wasn’t me in a fur costume. We went back to finish the Day Use Area and then headed over to Headquarters to visit the “big” kids, (all the girls in reservations). I took pictures for them (their cameras). It was back to the VC so that the EB could don his alter ego. Thank you Ken, you are a great EB.

It was a fun day. When we were done it was back to VC duties, greeting customers, answering questions and giving directions. I was able to get a little bit more familiar with the register, ringing up a sale. It was soon time to close the center and close out the register and the VC. when I left I noticed that most of the campers were getting ready to leave and go back to what ever life they left for the weekend. I am so glad that I don’t have to do that. Life Is Good out here in RV land.
I headed home to Angel. Didn’t do too much, got something to eat, made a few phone calls took a nap and read a little. Now it’s time for bed. Good Night All!!
Thanks for visiting

What a great Easter...spending it with happy campers and the EB!
ReplyDeleteIt's not everyone that gets to spend the day with the Easter Bunny! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day, sounds like your Easter was great! Love the EB costume, but it must have been hot in there.
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like you've found a great place to work and spend some time. I'm so happy for you that it's working out so well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend Easter. And J&E is right, not everybody gets to ride around in a golf cart, in a state park, in their own back yard with an EB. What fun! :)
