Another Short Post and New Neighbor

Yesterday I really didn’t do anything worthy of posting.  I didn’t have to work, so I didn’t get up until after 8:00 or 9:00 am.  Did a couple of loads of laundry, read and napped throughout the day.  In fact I only went out to move the picnic table when someone came to mow the grass. That was it!

Today, Saturday, I had Day Use Gate Duty.  I worked from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.  It was kind of slow, as the weather was somewhat dismal, awfully grey and drizzly.  It was busy around 11:00 am and I had a little help.  I took some time for lunch, then the rush was over, so I took over. The weather began to clear after 1:00 or 2:00, we still had quite a few come through.  I’m glad that I was able to be on the gate all day.  It gave me more hours, but most of all I am now familiar with the register and how to enter the various transaction.  It is important to do everything in the right order or it goes in wrong.  I also learned how to correct something so that I could do it right and how to close out.

I went straight home to let Angel out.  She is always so HAPPY to see me.

                                              my new neighbor

I found that I have a new neighbor, an older couple,  When he came out to get some water (they only hooked up the power for their A/C)  He asked if the water was potable.  It is, however I told him that it doesn’t taste that good, so I gave him some of my bottled water for them to make coffee.  We talked a little and he said that they are on their way to WI to a 6 month job that they have been doing for the last 10 years, so they will only be spending the night.

I sat out on the stairs, not bothering to get a chair out, as it has been extremely windy.  Sometimes it feels like it will blow me away, the whole rig just shake.  It has been this windy for the last few days and is kind of scary.  Oh well!

It is time for bed, so Good Night,  Y’all

Thanks for visiting

  1. It's been really windy here in AJ also. And cold. But the weatherman just told me that we're going to be back up to the 90's on Tuesday and stay there the rest of the week. Hopefully some of this nice weather moves your direction.

  3. I always hate the wind when we are in the motorhome! Sometimes it sounds like the roof is blowing off. Scary!
Stay safe and enjoy your workamp position.
